Maya Rani’s Legacy

Maya Rani (1946–2024) inspired Maaya Anubhuti with her vision of dignified ageing and youth empowerment. Her life of compassion, education, and service drives our mission to care for elders and train youth.

“She believed that age was no barrier to learning and growth”

A Life of Strength and Purpose

Born in Old Delhi, Maya Rani was shaped by her grandfather’s freedom-fighting spirit. Married at 16, she pursued education (B.Ed., postgraduate degrees) with her family’s support. As a teacher from 1973, she shaped young minds with kindness. After losing her son to cancer in 2016, she envisioned a space for elders to age with dignity, sparking Maaya Anubhuti.
